Play2048Base is built so you can swipe a board without creating an account or uploading a save file. The puzzle state lives in your browser. Hint and demo work run in a Web Worker on your device. Closing the tab does not send your grid to us as a “player profile.”

What stays on your device

  • Current board layout and whether a run is still open
  • Score and Best for that browser profile (local storage)
  • Daily challenge markers for the day you played
  • Sound on/off preference
  • A short recent-history list (last few runs: score, max tile, time)
  • Any temporary UI state for the side panel or overlay

Clear site data, use a private window, or switch browsers, and those values start fresh. We cannot restore a Best score you wiped — it was never on our servers.

Accounts

There are none. No sign-up, no password, no cloud sync of your Best score, and no mailing-list wall before the first swipe. If you install the site as a PWA on a device that supports it, the install still points at this origin; it does not create a Play2048Base user database.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-YSH9DSNELN) for aggregate traffic — pages viewed, approximate region, device type, browser, referral source. Analytics is not tied to your board state, Best score, or an account (we do not have accounts). You can play with analytics blocked.

Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Opt out with Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Ads

Display ads are not enabled today. Placeholders you may see in the layout are empty slots, not live networks. If ads turn on later, third-party networks may set cookies under their own policies, and this page will be updated. Ads will not sit on top of the playable board.

What may leave the device

  • Email you send us voluntarily (URL, screenshots, description of a bug)
  • Aggregate Google Analytics 4 traffic data — not tile grids or Best scores
  • Normal host and security logs (IP, user agent, path, timestamp) for abuse prevention — not used to rebuild your board

Email

If you write to contact@play2048base.com, we receive whatever you put in the message. We use that to reply or fix bugs — not to build a marketing list of “2048 players” or sell addresses.

Children

The site is a general-audience puzzle. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children as a product feature. Gameplay data is local. If a parent believes a child emailed us personal details, contact us and we will delete that mail from our inbox when we can.

Changes

If storage behavior, analytics, or ads change in a way that matters, we update this page and the “Last updated” date. Acceptable use lives on terms. Questions: contact or contact@play2048base.com.
